Sandy Stevenson, president of the Perquimans County Restoration Association, will share the story of an early 1700s plank house that was moved and restored on the Newbold-White House campus.
The Museum of the Albemarle's newest entry for History for Lunch will feature Dr. Kathleen DuVal, a history professor at UNC-Chapel Hill, as a speaker. Dr. DuVal will speak about North Carolina’s key contributions to the American Revolution.

The Museum of the Albemarle will host our monthly History for Lunch on Wednesday, May 21 at 12 p.m. in the Gordon Classroom. Author Bill Barber will highlight some of the men from northeastern North Carolina who served along our coast during the American Revolution and kept the British at bay.

The Ongoing Fight for Freedom: Stories of NC Black Veterans is a one-man performance highlighting Black freedom fighters and veterans from North Carolina—both famous and forgotten—who have contributed to the fight for liberty and equality over the past 400 years.
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Museum of the Albemarle will offer free Take It, Make It packets in celebration of Juneteenth.
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, attendees can experience what it’s like to be an archaeologist by conducting excavations, identifying and cleaning artifacts, and taking part in hands-on activities using real tools of the trade.
